Some of you might have had problems testing the com-connector for Dynamics Ax 4.0 in an environment without IIS. The trick is to just create a new text file and rename it to something.vbs afterwards.

Edit the file and paste the following:

‘ VB Script to test the Axapta COM Connector.
Dim ComConnector
dim result

Set comConnector = CreateObject(”AxaptaComConnector.Axapta3″)
comConnector.Logon “”, “”, “”, “”
result = “Com Connector ” & comConnector.callStaticClassMethod(”xInfo”, “BuildNo”) _
                        & ” built on ” & comConnector.callStaticClassMethod(”xInfo”, “compilationDate”) _
                          & ” at ” & comConnector.callStaticClassMethod(”xInfo”, “compilationTime”)
msgbox (result)
comConnector.logoff
set comConnector = nothing


You should get a message box telling you the build num and date/time of the Ax installation. If not, you have a problem with the com connector setup.
